01/09/04 Update - Happy New Year!

The garage is a MESS!
It's going to be a great day when the bodywork is over and the garage can be cleaned up and organized for final assembly. Being a neat-freak, I'm slowly going crazy. My wife (Scooterina) is a real trooper - she hasn't mentioned a divorce yet! (though I may be living in the garage soon ;)

Since this photo was taken, I've removed the exhaust and steering column. While Bob works on the body, I'm finishing the rear anti-roll bar, hood release mechanisms and emergency brake connections - none of which are finished at this time.

Bob had a week off work over the holidays and he spent every day of it working on the project. His attention to detail is impeccable! I've definitely picked the right guy for the job. He's leaving no stone unturned and the car should be as straight and nice as they get when he's finished.

The other night I was telling my wife that I'd invited Bob and his wife over some night for dinner. My middle daughter asked "Who's Bob?" and the youngest one piped up "The guy who lives in our garage"hehehe

We've decided on a slight color change since we nave to repaint the frame anyway. It's close to the same color only more blue. I think it will look terrific.

Site Additions
I've added a new "feature" to the site out of necessity. There were a few instances where people linked directly to some images on this site from incredibly busy web forums (non-car related ones at that!) and caused my bandwidth usage to soar - and consequently my wallet to shrink.

I don't mind web traffic (and paying for bandwidth) if it's visitors to the site. The more the merrier - I'll pay the bill, but really dislike dishing out my hard earned cash to display an image from this site on a non-related website. In an effort to *try* to discourage this, I've added a no-right-click feature to much of the site.

You can still print and save pages using the "File" command at the top of your browser but it's tougher to link directly to an image (though not impossible). I hope this doesn't cause too much distress to the right-clickers out there. If you want me to change it back... send money :)

There's also a new area on the "View Construction" page that allows users to jump right to the article showing the car outside (the best photos I have of the car so far). I was having a heck of a time guiding friends and relatives to the page.

The FAQ page keeps track of the number of Articles and photos to date. As of today, there are 3057 pictures in 632 Articles so far. It's been years since I've updated that page but it's still pretty current except I no longer use a voice recognition program to enter the Articles (haven't for about a year) due to problems with the software. There's a question in there about duplication. I recently heard that there's a clone of Project33 being built. They say imitation is the most sincere form of flattery but I'm not very flattered. It makes me reluctant to share some the information I'd normally share (like color numbers and measurements). I guess that's something I need to work through.

Until next time - Keep the shiny side up and Happy Holidays!
